The Wairarapa Workforce Development Trust was incorporated on 4 May 2004 to provide a formal governance structure to the Trust’s predecessor, the Employment Advisory Group. This Group was first convened in 2000 by Bob Francis, Mayor of Masterton. The motivation to form the Group was the collective concerns of employers across the Region experiencing difficulty recruiting suitable employees. Since then the Trust has expanded its focus to encompass all Labour Market concerns and issues faced by our community. Wairarapa has many advantages for those seeking to combine business opportunities or employment with a relaxed lifestyle. Our natural resources mean that while we are only an hour or so away from Wellington, the Art and Culture capital of New Zealand we are still an unspoiled region, reflecting the best of New Zealand’s clean and green reputation. Whether you are an employer needing information or you are looking at moving to the Wairarapa to live and work, this site is here to help. Please feel free to browse or contact us directly with any queries. We would love to help!
